Over the years, the Chamber has sponsored programing for Health & Wellness providers under the “Fit City” umbrella. The Fit City programs have consisted of member educational forums and community based outreach that would enhance and support member businesses. Moving forward this group is interested in an effort called Blue Zones that Mayor Lou Ogden introduced last fall as part of an effort to have Tualatin participate in a one year study. Although, Tualatin was not selected to become a Blue Zone test study city we believe there’s an opportunity for the Chamber to take a leadership role on this initiative. So, what is a Blue Zone?
The Blue Zones Project is a community-wide, well-being improvement initiative to help make healthy choices easier for Oregonians. Check out this link for more information regarding how it has been implemented in Klamath Falls Oregon: https://oregon.bluezonesproject.com/
