Position Overview The General Manager is the cultural and operational heart of the club, the people-first leader who builds a community where every club member, guest, and team member knows they belong. The General Manager ensures that operations behind that experience performs. This role requires both care for people and accountability for results. In this role you will guide and develop a team, own the club’s performance, and foster a culture rooted in engagement, inclusion, and continuous improvement. You will help grow the organization itself by contributing to the systems, standards and culture that RECS carries into the next chapter. Core Responsibilities Lead the people and culture of the club by recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, developing, and retaining a high-performing team that reflects our values. Deliver exceptional hospitality through visible leadership, proactive engagement, escalation and resolution of complex concerns ensuring fairness and follow-through. Drive club performance and revenue growth by leveraging available channels including private events, sponsorships, member and program development, food beverage and retail sales. Analyze club data to optimize the space usage and programming. Own performance against annual targets and proactively surface opportunities to improve revenue. Own club operational excellence, including daily workflows, inventory management, retail, food and beverage coordination, events, court utilization and facility readiness. Ensure safety and compliance by maintaining clean, functional spaces; addressing maintenance and safety issues promptly; and upholding all health, safety, and regulatory requirements. Partner cross-functionally to ensure alignment, resourcing, and consistent execution in marketing tactics, sponsorship, merchandising, food beverage and retail procurement, team engagement and court programming.

Role Accountability and Success Measures
These aspects of the role clarify what success looks like, while allowing each GM to bring their own style and strengths to the work. Total annual club revenue, reflecting leadership in growing membership, events, programs, and community engagement. Staff development actions taken, including timely performance reviews, coaching follow-ups, and completion of required training. Operational audit scores, reflecting commitment to safety, readiness, cleanliness, and consistent execution of standards. These KPIs aim to provide a way for leaders to grow, innovate, and know their impact.

Qualifications and Experience
3+ years of progressive leadership in a customer-facing environment (recreation, hospitality, retail, or similar), including direct people management Demonstrated experience leading and developing teams through scheduling, coaching, performance management, and accountability Strong communicator with the ability to build relationships across staff, members, guests, and in the local community Highly organized with confidence managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment Genuine passion for community building and creating inclusive, welcoming spaces with sincere respect for individual differences Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Experience managing revenue and expenses. Comfort leading through change and contributing to systems and processes in a scaling organization.

Compensation and Benefits
Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt, Regular
Salary Range: $63,000 - $76,000

The following benefits reflect the current benefits plan year Health Care: Medical, dental, and vision coverage with the employer currently covering 50% of premiums for employees only.

Retirement: 401(k) plan with eligibility after one year of employment.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
The club operates seven days a week, from early mornings through late evenings. This role requires consistent, substantial on-site presence across a varied weekly schedule to effectively lead operations, events and the team. Fast-paced, high-energy environment with frequent time spent in the club engaging with people.

To perform the essential functions of this role, the General Manager must be able to: Move between courts, offices, and service areas frequently during a shift. Lift, carry, or move supplies and equipment up to 40 pounds. Perform occasional bending, reaching, and kneeling related to facility readiness and event setup.
