On April 18th, Washington County's Solid Waste & Recycling Program will be holding a free ResourceFull Use workshop for commercial industrial businesses. The workshop will be held at the Hillsboro Fire Department's Station 6 - Cherry Lane building from 9:30-11:30 a.m., with a tour of Kaiser Permanente's new Westside Medical Center to follow the workshop.
Established in 2006, ResourceFull Use is an innovative materials exchange program available to manufacturing and industrial businesses throughout the greater Portland Metro region. The free workshops provide a setting for participants to create business-to-business partnerships for materials otherwise destined for the landfill. The workshops also provide businesses with education and awareness around the effort of achieving zero waste to landfill.
Almost two dozen representatives from such Westside businesses as Epson, SolarWorld USA, Rexel USA, Pacific Natural Foods, Woodfold Manufacturing, Inc. and INLINE Commercial Construction, among many others, attended Washington County’s inaugural RFU workshop last April, held at Clean Water Services’ Durham wastewater treatment facility. Businesses involved in this year's event include Kaiser Permanente, the Pacific Northwest Pollution Prevention Resource Center, REI, Insomnia Coffee Co. and Consumer Cellular, among others.
Attached is a flyer about the workshop for you to pass on to local businesses you think would be interested in attending. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.
