On Thursday, February 25, Tualatin High School will be screening the documentary "Black Girl in Suburbia." It is a documentary created by a local filmmaker raised in West Linn, and it highlights the experiences of students of color growing up in a mostly white community.
This screening was the brain-child of a TuHS junior, Markayla Ballard, with support from our Race in the 21st Century teacher, Caroline Hay, and financial support from the school district. The documentary is about an hour long, and it will be followed by a Q & A with the filmmaker. It is free to the public.
