Juneteenth, is a federal holiday in the United States. It is celebrated annually on June 19th to commemorate the ending of slavery in the United States.
Today, we honor freedom, resilience, and the enduring fight for equality. Juneteenth marks the day in 1865 when enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, learned of their freedom—over two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
Let’s celebrate Black culture, history, and achievements while continuing the work toward justice and equity. ❤️🖤💚
