World renowned jazz pianist Randy Porter will be featured in a Benefit Concert for Holly Bruno, an 8-year-old girl in the Tigard/Tualatin School District who was recently diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma. In addition to Randy Porter, who as Lynn Darroch of The Oregonian states, “has built a reputation as a musician’s musician, a knowledgeable, inventive, and sophisticated player with a remarkable sense of time and gorgeous keyboard facility…” there will be performances by the Crosswinds Big Bands from Portland, Tualatin High School’s Crimonnaires, various jazz ensembles from the TuHS Choir, and the Bruno family. The concert will be April 12, at 7:30 pm in the Tualatin High School Auditorium. Minimum requested donation will be $2.00 at the door. There will be a basket raffle, 50/50, and refreshments available for purchase including Baskin Robbins ice cream. If you are unable to attend, but would like to donate to the Bruno family, please send your monetary donations to Tualatin High School Choir, 22300 SW Boones Ferry Road, Tualatin, OR 97062. Please be sure to write “Holly Bruno donation” on your check. If you would like to donate a basket for the raffle, please drop your basket off at the high school prior to 3 pm, April 12.
