S & A Irish Entertainment and events is very proud to host the CD Release ''Foreign Shore'' from award-winning flautist and singer Hanz Araki. Araki, called "an Irish music phenomenon in West Coast America" by Irish Music Magazine, has recorded a compelling collection of eleven songs and tunes from the traditions of Ireland, Scotland, England, Wales, New Zealand, and America with longtime collaborator Cary Novotny (guitar). With additional musical contributions from Eddie Parente (strings), Lisa Ornstein (podorythmie), Colleen Raney (vocals), Bob Soper (vocals), and Mike Cody (vocals), Foreign Shore dives into the heart of a musical tradition that traveled the world as Araki's Irish and Japanese forbearers did. Araki, whose full name is Hanzaburo after his grandfather's grandfather, is the 6th generation of his family to earn the title of Kodo Araki, a grand master of the shakuhachi. While he honed his musical ability perfecting the traditions of his father's family, his love of the music of his Irish mother's family lead to a career in Irish music that spans twenty-five years and produced ten albums. Within Foreign Shore, his eleventh release, he showcases the inherent beauty of traditional Irish music with performances that are inspired, detailed, and authentic. PRAISE FOR HANZ ARAKI " splendid, absolutely fabulous" BBC Wales, Celtic Heartbeat " a gentle uplifting and definite Celtic flavour immensely talented musician from the northwest corner of America." The Irish Post "Araki's distinctive voice, while definitely in the folk tradition, carries a lot of emotion; the instrumental work is exceptional." The Irish Edition "(His) musicianship is superb achingly beautiful; a real delight." - Fatea Magazine
