DESCRIPTION:The 9th Annual West Coast Giant Pumpkin Regatta\nSaturday\, October 20\, 2012 at the Tualatin Lake of the Commons - 8325 SW Nyberg St\nIf you've never been to the West Coast Giant Pumpkin Regatta odds are you've never seen anyone sit inside a giant pumpkin let alone race one across a lake dressed as a superhero or the tooth fairy. \nOver the last 8 years the award-winning West Coast Giant Pumpkin Regatta has become Oregon's best October event. Spectators mostly come from around the Pacific Northwest but also come from all over the United States and Canada. The event has been featured by a wide variety of local\, regional\, and national media outlets including the Wall Street Journal\, CNN\, the Travel Channel\, Better Homes and Gardens\, and Food Network Magazine.\nHere are just a few of the things to look forward to at this year's Regatta:\nThe Pumpkin Regatta is very excited to have bluegrass band Back Porch Revival back again this year!\nBury your face in a pumpkin pie at the pumpkin pie eating contest hosted by Village Inn Restaurant\nRojo the Llama will be visiting!\nStart planning your costume for the costume contests!\nWhich pumpkin will win the 13th annual Terminator Weigh Off? Can any pumpkin beat last year's winner of 1\,431.5 pounds by grower Steve Daletas?\nDo you want to find out about more events featuring giant pumpkins? Visit the Pacific Giant Vegetable Growers website!\nStart your morning with the 5k Regatta Run! The Regatta Run 5K was created in honor of Corporal Matthew Lembke who lost his life from wounds sustained while serving in Afganistan.
