Before becoming a City Councilor in 2019\, she served as the Chair the Tualatin Parks Advisory Committee\, Chair of the Tualatin Parks Master Plan Advisory Committee\, and on the Budget Committee. She currently serves on seven committees in her City Council role.\n\n\n\nValerie's campaign is built on competency\, total commitment\, continuous advocacy\, and practical solutions.\n\n \n\nOctavio Gonzales:\n\nCouncilor Octavio Gonzalez was elected in November 2022. He serves on the Metropolitan Area Communications Commission (MACC) and as an alternate on the Washington County Consolidated Communications Agency 911\, Washington County Coordinating Committee\, and Willamette River Water Coalition.\n\n\n\nHis community service includes nine years on the Tigard-Tualatin School District (TTSD) Budget Committee\, concluding as vice chair\, and served as Board member with Tualatin Together. He began volunteering at Bridgeport Elementary School as the crosswalk dad during morning drop-off and later served on the No Place for Hate Committee and parent organization.\n\n\n\nProfessionally\, Octavio helps homeowner association boards and management companies develop long-range landscape and budget plans focused on liability\, and conservation\, helping communities plan responsibly and avoid special assessments.\n\n\n\nHis campaign focuses on fiscal accountability\, protecting household budgets\, public safety\, essential infrastructure\, and practical\, responsive government.
