DESCRIPTION:Meet the Artists on Thursday\, August 11\, 2016\n\nWe warmly welcome you to join us for our event "Meet the Artists" on Thursday\, August 11th\, where this month's artists will present themselves and their work.\n\nThis month we proudly present:\n\nWater Color Artist - Mark Adcock of Canby\n\nAcrylic Artist - Dr. Richard Bernard of Charbonneau\n\nGallery guests will have the opportunity to mingle with the artists\, while enjoying refreshments.\n\n\n\nRetired Police Officer and Physician Spotlighted at the Findlay Art Exhibit in August.\n\nRetired after 40 years of public service\, Mark Adcock of Canby\, Oregon now only pursues his passion for capturing and creating artistic beauty through water color.  Mark's interest in watercolor painting began after taking several classes from Oregon City watercolorist\, Jude Welter. Since then\, his paintings have been included in several juried art shows on the Oregon Coast and are showcased in restaurants and galleries on the Oregon Coast and in Vancouver.\n\n \n\nRetired physician\, Richard Bernard of Charbonneau\, Oregon spent his career as a doctor helping people with their physical ailments\, now\, he's helping people lift their spirits through his acrylic art paintings.  Richard's medical career began during the Korean War\, where he served in the U.S. Navy as a medical officer and went on to lead a successful medical practice in Beaverton and also taught as an instructor at Oregon Health & Science University until his retirement.   In 2005\, Dr. Bernard began to explore his love of art by joining a weekly acrylic art class at the Charbonneau Country Club. Since then he has never looked back and has been creating and selling his work throughout the area.\n\n\nWHY: Findlay is proud to promote the hard work and passion of local artist's as a way to preserve the arts and culture of the area.  The Findlay Community Art Exhibition is designed to showcase local artists by offering their main lobby as a gallery space to showcase local art.
