Hotel Sales Manager Job Summary
The Hotel Sales Manager is responsible for developing and executing hotel sales strategies. This position requires a high-energy team player, a positive, self-motivated individual with excellent verbal and written communication, innovative sales techniques, and strong closing skills.
The Hotel Sales Manager will also build relationships with current and potential clients and is responsible for providing feedback on industry changes and trends.
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create and execute a sales plan specific but not limited to Corporate, Convention, Association, Government, SMERF and other markets.
  • Responsible for generating top line revenue to meet or exceed budget expectations
  • Monitor industry trends and changes and provide feedback to appropriate departments
  • Maintain relationships with current and potential clients to help increase brand loyalty
  • Work with sister property sales teams to develop and maintain knowledge of market trends, competition, and customer base.
  • Meet monthly quotas on sales calls, industry events, and site tours
  • Participate in revenue management
  • Maintain daily communication and/or weekly reporting with the Team regarding potential new business, lost business, and sales activities. Maintain accurate and timely account activities and relevant contact information in the property/company’s sales system.
  • Track and analyze sales data to identify areas for improvement
  • Develop networking opportunities through active participation in community and professional associations, activities and events
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as operations, housekeeping, and maintenance, to ensure guest satisfaction
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, marketing, or the hospitality industry
  • Positive attitude with excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Corporate/Convention/Association/Government/SMERF Group market experience preferred along with strengths in the national & local markets.
  • Strong understanding of sales and marketing principles and best practices
  • Passion for sales and for achieving targets and objectives
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software programs
